Pairing Clown Fish in a Nano Reef Tank Jun 21

Today I decided to introduce a larger clown fish to my Nano Reef Aquarium. The larger fish is slighly mis-barred and is very much a bigger specimen. Pairing clown fish can be tricky, Maroon Clowns are especially aggressive and can kill if they dont like the arranged marriage.

Today, within minutes my two clowns where dancing together and getting along perfectly. This is a great sign of a happy life together, after all this tank is just for them and no other fish will be introduced
(except for maybe one of those really small goby that are about the size of a penny.

My clown fish , though I do not know for sure , came from ORA at one time in their lineage. The smaller female was purchased from PetMart on 2/09 and the larger Clown fish was purchased today from St. Pete Marine, in St. Petersburg Florida.

Oceanic Biocube Nano Reef Aquarium : 14 Gallon

Life: Clownfish, Snails, Emerald Crab, Hermit Crab, Scarlet Hermit, Pencil Urchin

Filtration: Biocube Skimmer, Chaeto, Live Sand, Partial Live rock (only 1 piece of tonga is alive, rest is dry figi.)

This is a stock tank thus far, no mods, no lighting upgrade or pump upgrade at this stage of the game, once the tank matures and the tide settles I will probably upgrade the lighting first for SPS.

This is to be a clownfish / anemone / refugium habitat | representing my re-entry to this great hobby and the 9th year of my education in the art and science of Nano Reef Aquariums.

This is an Emerald Crab, it is an Omnivore originating in the Tropical Western Atlantic region and Caribbean Sea.

The scientific name of Emerald Mythrax Crab is Mithrax sculptus.

This species is Semi-Aggressive toward other Nano Reef Tank inhabitants and you should really have only 1 in a small nano tank and maybe two if you have more than 30 gallons.
